Tyrol event road trip.
« on: September 26, 2021, 10:53:39 »
As mentioned in the main event thread, I headed to Switzerland from Seefeld. There’s a very long boring motorway run via St Gallen, Zurich, Bern, Vevey and Montreux or a much straighter run, with some mountains blocking the way. OberalpPass and FurkaPass (Chur to Brig). Furka is over 2400m ~8000ft

Thanks for posting, James.  A gutsy drive AFTER the event.  I recall doing Furka in the opposite direction in my Volvo Amazon in 1968. A spectacular drive!

Our traveling group from Merano did Passo del Rombo (Timmelsjock) 2474m with four cars on the way to Seefeld. Also a fun drive but we had the advantage of great weather.  Have a safe and enjoyable drive the rest if the way to England.

Your cars were laden with speck, Parmesan, beer, wine…. ;D

I saw the signs for Meran and did wonder if that would be your route.
Enjoy your trip to Lugano.
See you again soon, I hope
