New Headliners

I've completley stripped my hardtop following Gernold's excellent article. No problem encountered, but I will replace the headliner and faom padding with a new. Gernold's article is a few years old--I believe it's a 1994--he quotes the MB dealer price for a headliner at about $80.00. I have not checked that out, but I'm sure the price has gone up. I also noticed that World Upholstery advertises one at a little less than $100.00 while GAHH advertises one at about $185.00 Anyone know what the difference is in these headliners? Anyone happen to know what the dealer prices are now?

Thanks--George Des

George,

sorry, I can't help with your question, but would like to know more about Gernold's article.  Is it available on-line?

Thanks,

George I'm not sure where I read this but I am positive that someone bought a new headliner, described as original, but the patern of the holes was slightly different, slightly irregular as oppossed to diamond pattern.

Hope that helps !
