Aloha, Ron. I am Robert P. Smith out on the Big Island of Hawaii. I noticed from your profile that you’re 81 now. I’m 71, but catching up fast!
I am the proud new owner of a 1967 250SL California Coupe. My car came with a data card entry and “Production I” option receipt that indicates it came with a tonneau cover. However, the cover must have become separated from the car over the years. This is a European model, and has been owned by a number of people.
I noticed a post you made in 2015 when you mentioned owning a tonneau cover that did not fit so well because of headrest clearance. I just thought I’d write to see if you still had the tonneau, or would be willing to sell it. Even knowing where it is may be helpful to me, as perhaps I could get a pattern from the owner. My car is optioned with leather interior, color bronze. The receipt for the factory tonneau indicates it was color code 437 (brown). Data card sows option code 288, Tonneau Cover.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts. Mahalo! Robert 808-342-1036 (text) HST, or email smith1127@aol.com
