Is this a 280SL part?
« on: March 07, 2022, 06:18:23 »
Help please... 280SL Engine was removed and is being installed. Mechanic does not know where this part goes. Is it a 280SL part or did it fall off shelve into the 280SL parts box.

Don’t attempt to start the engine without it. Does the chain tensioner ring the bell?

Thank you so much - engine not ready to start for a while. Still adding lines brackets and accessories - we are puzzling over several brackets.
We may have a few more questions as we proceed. The mechanic is not experienced with 280SL and started this project over a year ago - Subsequently lost all the photos taken during disassembly.
