Actual timing numbers
« on: March 15, 2022, 02:00:15 »
Hi everyone,
I would like to get some actual timing numbers of the well tuned M127, 129, and/or 130 engine. I’m not able to recover my notes at the moment so your help will be greatly appreciated. Yes, I do have the book numbers but those are on the conservative side.
I’m looking for idle, 1000 and 1200rpm. So dig up your timing light and enjoy the exercise.
Thank you

38 degrees full advance at or above 3,000 RPM. Regardless of which ignition system you have ( there are three different ones for our cars )  that's the number you want to obtain. Too many people see 30 degrees ATDC at 3,000 RPM and think that's where you should set your timing while forgetting about timing at idle speed. It's a combination of idle timing, mechanical advance, and vacuum timing that gives you a final full advance number.
