The photo of the bracket circled in green has threads pointing up from the bracket designed for a bolt coming from the bottom side.  The oily engine bracket is attached from the top with a hex head bolt and washer.

I remember an old post about Horn brackets and I forget which car, 250SL or 280Sl Late model.
One of my cars have a similar bracket and one does not.
So it could be for the horns, I think the drivers side on a left hand drive car is where it goes.

Could it be the bracket that is on the top of the throttle valve that holds the fuel line to CSV? Looks like it. Chumps

The throttle body was one of my first thoughts, but it is different one (picture).

I am attaching a handful of various brackets pictures, maybe useful.

Thanks Pawell66 for posting the bracket photos, it was helpful to review those locations.  I have my brackets installed per the photos and still have one left over. It did not come from the top of the throttle body. My configuration does not have a support bolt there suitable for a bracket (and we did not disassemble this area).

The bracket on throttle body is held by a screw. The hole for this screw is in front of the throttle body, close to its upper edge. The bracket is different, it is bent twice. There is a smaller clamp that is screwed to the bracket that holds the fuel line that runs to Cold Start Valve.

I looked at my car and I do not have this bracket. The only place that it would fit is holding the air line to CSV, the location on the picture of the red car. I have a differnet one there, not sure if what I have is original though.

Thank you to all who replied with suggestions. One bracket was identified for the gas tank. The other bracket remains a mystery. If I figure this out in the future, I will post the location.

Have a look here, it looks like number 22 on page 12, i think Pawel already posted a picture of this page, but this gives a description as well, although it's not clear where it's actually fitted

Yes that is the bracket #22 and it uses clip#36 (I have both parts leftover), I saw this before my original post.  It is listed on the fuel injection page but does not state where it goes, I have looked at many photos of this area and do not see this bracket. My fuel injection lines all appear to have the appropriate bracket installed - I thought someone would recognize this part quickly.

I believe parts #22 & #36 are the ones that Joe mentioned in his reply #17.
Those were on my M127 engine (230SL) with the R11 injection pump. Why would you have those left over? You have a M130 engine and a 280SL correct?

??? Then how come you have these two parts? I am confused now.
On my 1968 280SL the bracket is a different one and in a different location.

I have the same brackets on the fuel injection pump that you do. My leftover bracket came from an unknown location. Perhaps it was added when the car was worked on previously and is not original
