after reading all the comments on which adjustments should be checked and reading everyones opinions on how it should be done. Its a wonder any of us none professionals get brain fade each time we touch the adjustments on our SLs.
My brain operates by sight , there for if Joe or Cees were to make a video on the steps to tune and adjust the fuel properities of our engines in laymens terms. I would consider it an investment to purchase. Since awhile back we had made plans to produce a W113 manual from the the post over the years , why not subliment it with how to videos.

This is just my opinion and I am sure there are others who feel confused also with the various post on any one subject reguarding tune ups and setting the fuel injection.

I own a Honda Gold Wing (GL1800) motorcycle, on which I do some of my own maintenance.  Another owner, much handier than I am, has put together a 14 DVD set of maintenance videos, all of him working on the bike, and all shot by him (often shot with one hand while doing ridiculously difficult things with the other).  I'd sure love to have the same thing for the 113.

Bob,

I'm a visual learner as well.  That said, I would think written instructions would be better.  I don't think many people would have a TV/DVD or computer/DVD in the garage so they could watch the video while working on the car.  However, everyone would be able to take written instructions into the garage with them.

I can see the best advantage of video being a general education for the inexperienced.  For example, pointing out parts so you can associate a part by an unfamiliar name.  For example, "this is a Warm Running Device" or "this is the MFI pump fuel mixture screw".  I think a lot of new DIY mechanics, such as myself, could learn a lot from a video, but step-by-step procedures are best left to words (along with some pictures/diagrams).

Hi, Rodd,

I certainly understand your point, but I have to say that I have both the printed service books for my bike and the 14 DVDs, and there is nothing like watching someone do some of this stuff.  I have done several somewhat complicated things to my car following directions on our site, and the directions have been wonderfully helpful.  However, there were several times when I thought "Gee, I wish I could see the part (or the specific operation) they're talking about."  There's probably a place for both.  

Having watched the Gold Wing DVDs, I've certainly thought how great it would be to have them for the 113.  Sort of like watching Joe and others at the Tech Session, with rewind and slow-mo.

Are you still planning on attending the Ohio Tech Session?  We could probably get a couple subject matter experts to "step aside" and film this in a couple hours.  We could have maintenance books on hand to lead us through it logically and efficiently.

I did a few automotive instructional videos back in the 60s... best is to package the writen material with the video... it's not an either or thing.

It does take some pre production planning... can't just show up and shoot.

Thank you all for your feed back. I hope I did not offend anyone with my suggestion. I am very willing to learn about my SL. From the response I read, I think you are too. I donot know what all the answers are to make this happen. We are blessed with the knoledgable authories of many people around the world and in the United States on our cars that contribute to our forum every day with out hesidence to help answer questions and help provide answers to our group. These people have my sole graditute and respect.
I am remined by a picture from a calender that I taped to my computer. Below a picture of two small childern looking at an open gate reads the following words and I quote"
Since we cannot know all that is to be knowen of everything, we ought to know a little about everything. author Blaise Pascal.
We are still a new group of auto enthusiast , setting our goals ahead and hoping to guide our group to better heights of understanding the working of a W113 SL.
This can not be learned over night, I my self know that.
I only am suggesting another form of what can help dupicate the wisdom of our teachers of mechnical engineering to reach as many people in our group as possible with out leaving anyone out.
I appreciate all of your comments and I am willing to help and share my knoledge in detailing as I ask our experts to share with me some tips from their knoledge.
