Greasing Fitting
« on: April 07, 2022, 14:15:04 »
I thought I would share quickly... If you all know it already - sorry.

I bought something like this (not exactly this one, but could not find exactly the one I bought):  https://allegro.pl/oferta/koncowka-smarownicy-zatrzaskowa-bez-trzymania-m10-7764270676

A true blessing! Greasing time of the usual 15 points - 1/3rd of what it was before....

And how does this save you time?  Not understanding.

Maybe it was just me, but 2/3 of the greasing time I used to spend on snapping on and snapping off the greaser fitting. Now it takes 0.5 seconds.

Yes Pawel, I sure agree that locking grease zerk fitting makes it easier and quicker since you don't have to worry about it falling off when slightly off alignment and then you have less grease escape messes.  I found one that also had an adjustable angle fitting,  for hard to reach spots.  That was a blessing, but the best investment I made was in a cordless power grease gun.   When resurrecting my pagoda some of the 30 yr old grease had become so thick a hand pump just couldn't push it out.   The power gun was able to move all the old sludge out easily with no effort and bad words out of me.

This is the one i bought, but there are others out there too.

I was curious about the power grease gun and if it would blow out old grease like in the door hinges. Lubing those is not easy even with a heat gun to warm it up. The locking grease tip would not help with that, but not having to pump and hold the needle point grease fitting at the same time would allow more control.

I also have the locking tip and is wonderful.

Hmm, I wasn't aware of needing to grease door hinges but I do have a creaking sound in my door.   Can you describe how, or point to instructions?  thanks much, Mark

It looks like a decent one! I use mine once a year practically so I manage investment... but I got a nice pneumatic Hazet piece.
