Headlights

Anyone recently replaced their US Headlight Bulb's?
I do not want any Euro halogen bulb that will require a wire/relay replacement. Just a good simple replacement, that lights the road.
I want to keep my original USA Fixtures.
I read on this forum something about a better bulb.
I have searched 6 pages of threads and could not find the thread regarding bulb.
My original GE bulbs are all scratched up and are growing dim.
Alt output good grounds all good. Just need good bulbs.
Oh and yes, I Read Dan Sterns light page.
Thanks, Ernie 8)

Hello Ernie,

Quartz "sealed beam" headlights are available to replace the old tungsten sealed beams. These will improve illumination quite a bit. In addition several manufacturers like Bosch, Cibie, and Marchel, make a conversion which is the same configuration, size, and with same hook ups, but the quartz lamps are replaceable with many different wattage lamps for the high or low beam. These conversions will make an amazing difference and the glass lenses look the same as sealed beams in most cases. They install, plug in and look like seled beams and require no relay.

The Cibie "Z beam" was always my favorite.

The 7" H4 replacement 'E" codes do not need any relay or wireing mods..[ using stock 55/60 H4]... they just plug in and the lighting is far superior.. they now even have them with City lamp sockets..

I bought a set of these from this outfit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7976613140&category=33564    On Ebay. They are the best headlights I have ever used. The sellers are real helpful also. This is a great bolt on upgrade.
