Brennie,

I recently lost mine, due to improper fastening…….least costly replacement in chrome, without the MB symbol, is from Palm Beach Classics.  ( info@palmbeachclassics.com) $205US international shipping included. Unless you have your old locking cap mechanism, the new key will obviously not match your glove compartment lock.

Tony,
I have this exact gas cap and I’m very pleased with it.  Apart from the logo, it’s identical to the one sided key OEM models.  Very few would ever question its authenticity.

I also have an OEM, 2-sided key one, correct for my 1971 model.   Because these caps have become so expensive I only use it if I’m going to a show.
