Under wing/fender closure panel fixings

Hi, can you please advise me as to the type /size of fixings used to fix the closure panels in place under the front wings/fenders adjacent to the toe boards.  Are self tapping screws used into a plastic inserts? The holes in the new panels are quite large presumably for adjustment purposes so i guess washers are needed. Thanks

Hello Gordon, if you are speaking of the splash shields (see photo) I am ordering M6.3 X 20 hex head self tapping screws plus washers. Six each side. Hopefully you can find them more locally. In the US I order from Bel-Metric in Mass. If you were speaking of a different panel please ignore.  Lee

Original heads.  For what it's worth the Mercedes current part is totally wrong and shockingly expensive.  I have a whole bag of them as they were special order and I refused to use them.

Belmetric.  Pennies each. Not sure of size if anyone can fill that in?  The official term is a Loose Washer Tapping Screw if that gets anyone closer outside the US.

I've measured the collar washer at 17mm,  total screw length of 18mm, indented hexagon head is 8mm socket size.

additional info. the measurement from below the hex head/washer is 13mm

Probably a 15 mm length as it is measure from below the head of the screw to the tip.  If someone can measure diameter and compare it to the first page after the index here?  Pretty sure it is a 5.5mm but not 100 percent.

looks like 5.5mm X 18 with an 18mm washer.  Screw diameter is measured off the widest part of the threads (Major diameter).
