gloves that can resist Laquer thiners

Ive been trying to use Lacquer thinners to degrease parts etc or strip paint.  What gloves can hold up to it. anything Ive tried melts in a few mins. Nitrile is totally useless.

Those dish-washing heavy rubber type gloves that are usually bright pink or yellow hold up against aircraft paint stripper.  Give those a try.

I use kerosene to degrease parts, works quite well and is not nearly as aggressive as lacquer thinner.
For paint removal I either sandblast, wire wheel/sand, or paint stripper but not lacquer thinner.

Lacquer thinner is made up of acetone, toulene and methanol…….the first two are carcinogenic….wear a NIOSH VOC ( volatile organic compounds) mask.
   I Sue brake clean ( iso propyl alcohol) for degreasing .
   Per above, I sand blast or wire wheel for paint removal.  Then prep for paint with brake clean.

The other problem with using a solvent like lacquer thinner to degrease parts is that it evaporates too quickly. You need something that will stay on the surface to dissolve the grease. I use ZEP purple degreaser and is extremally effective.

Paint stripper had its most effective ingredient (methylene chloride) taken out several years ago and rendered it basically useless. Ultra has a new ingredient that really works. About as good as the old stuff but expensive. I used it and is very effective. You will want to wear a mask though as the fumes are really quite potent. Also when you unscrew the top, put a rag over it to catch escaping pressure. This stuff is very sensitive to temperature changes like gasoline.

When I degreased my parts I let them soak in a warm bath of purple power in my part washer. . I just added a $20 water heater used for animal watering troughs from Tractor Supply. Not only did it loosen up the grease but it removed most of the black on engine parts. Basically anything that wasn’t primered.

Thanks for a lot of great suggestions.  So the regular houshold Latex gloves seem to hold up well to it. I cant use paint stripper as I need to save the original undercoat. So Im proceeding as suggested.
