It's been a while since I posted an update but after several (frustrating) months I'm happy to report the car is up and running just in time for the summer weather here in Seattle. This has been fun project and I've learned a lot during the process. Several trips were made to my local mechanic for repairs I was not able to do on my own. I spent countless hours cleaning and polishing. I've replaced most of the suspension and engine parts, updated white wall tires, weather seals, new soft top, chrome, radio, and too many other items to mention. I'm most proud of how the trunk turned out. It wasn't in the best shape when I purchased the car and I'm pleased with the results. The original white leather interior cleaned up well after some intensive cleaning, however, my next step will be getting all new upholstery.
When I purchased the car I had very few records. I ordered the data card through Mercedes and found out that the car was originally signal red with white gray leather interior and a black soft top. At some point, someone painted it blue, then back to red again. The engine was also replaced with a 250 SE/C sedan.
