You're in Australia.  Are you shopping globally or locally?  https://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=36422.0

Hi Stick
Looking at your Web site your cars are restored I do not care about restoration as I intend to complete a resto over the years. I would like to enjoy a car for a while driving in the sun here and then complete mid size projects  each year until the car is how I want it. After I will keep for life.
Thanks

The one I have coming up is not restored, just a solid driver.

RHD or LHD?
Manual or Automatic?
Budget?
Aussie dollar means a currency exchange hit, unless you have USD sitting offshore.
Import costs have doubled and border security is hyper focused on asbestos. Buy local if you can to avoid these hidden penalties.
Also keep an open mind to 230 & 250 if the right one presents as they can be value buying and the power difference to the 280 is negligible.

Best of luck!

Hi Thank you for the heads up really appreciated.
Yes asbestos brake pads etc I have heard from a few people about this.

280 v 250 & 230 really want a 280 do it once do it right.
However I have thought about the electric conversion from west coast ev so lots to consider.
First must get the car.

And yes local always best but the prices here are eye watering.
Cheers

Proverbial barn find.
It's in my storage unit. Will let you know when it makes it to my workshop.
Colour codes are 460 with 249.
Data card shows it came with luggage set but sadly that's not present!
1969 RHD 4spd manual.
Hasn't run for 20 years so will have full recommisioning before sale.
Has a cheap replacement soft top.
Needs no body work.
Leather is showing its age.
Can't put a price on it because I haven't actually cleaned it or seen it in daylight yet!
Once I've got it running and presentable I'll know more about what I think it's worth.

I have a completely original 1965 230 SL that I am selling. I am the 2nd owner and owned it for 19 years. It belonged to my neighbour who purchased it new. It has been meticulously maintained, no rust whatsoever, original tops  original paint, and various components have been replaced/rebuilt over the years. It has been appraised as a number 2, the highest one can get before concours. I am downsizing.
The car is located in Canada, LH drive.

I have the data card  brochure  etc.
If you want pics and service work history email me at profile@mts.net.
