heater water valve question
« on: May 27, 2003, 21:17:18 »
I have the heater core out as part of my dashboard overhaul, and just replaced the o-ring. Foolishly, I did not record the positions of everything during disassembly, and now am not sure I am assembling it correctly. I want to do this on the workbench, since access is far more difficult once the heater core is back in place.
I lined up the hole on the valve with the water intake pipe, and put on the retainer so it was as far counter-clockwise as possible. Then I put the swiveling arm on so it is oriented over the retainer. Does this sound right?
Once the core is in place, pulling on the swivel arm toward the driver will close the valve, and pushing it away from the driver, toward the front of the car, will open the valve.
Sure miss my memory.
