Letting my 280 be used for photo shoot
« on: December 11, 2023, 17:41:11 »
On weekends I usually drive my 280 down to Worth Avenue, on Palm Beach.  It's a very scenic street - lots of people use the street for photo shoots on weekend mornings.  This Sunday I drove over, parked my car, and went for a walk.  As I came back to my car there was a young couple standing in front of the car, having their photo taken.  They asked if I was the owner, and I said "Yes" and they asked if it was OK to stand before the car.  I said of course, and then I offered for them to sit in the car for photos if they wanted, and they accepted, and I snapped a quick photo.  So here is my car being used for a young couple's photo shoot.  I hope they got some great pictures.

Nice, what with the Mini Moke in the background and all. I always liked to stroll Worth Avenue when I lived in Boca Raton in the eighties, Pagodas in their natural habitat, Wally Findlay and Gucci in prime locations, parking tickets only $5, Hamburger Heaven around the corner, what's not to like.

The blue 280 looks like a really nice car.  Love blue with the light interior. Five dollar parking tickets are no more in Palm Beach. One summer the town changed one street from public parking to permit parking only. Parked on the street unaware of the change after dark in the fall and did not see the new signs. Parking fine was seventy five bucks.

Yep.  Palm Beach parking tickets have gone way up.  About a year ago I parked on a section of Worth Avenue that, unbeknownst to me, had been converted to paid parking.  I got ticketed within 20 minutes - the fine was like $75.

Residents can now buy a sticker for their car that allows them 2 hours of free parking in the paid-parking areas.  It's become a status symbol to have one on your car.

Many years ago, My Sadie was used for a Casio Camera commercial.  It was a hoot to do.

Why did they want my car?  It's color which matched the new camera color.

It took a whole day to film the video but was fun to watch and also to enjoy the "craft table"  At least I can say my car is a celebrity and  has been in "pictures" which is something I would never be able to say for myself

And whether they appreciated our Pagodas or something else, any time they came close or touched the car, they wore white gloves.  As I said, it was a hoot
