Engine damper
« on: December 30, 2023, 21:15:43 »
Hello I’m doing a bunch of work on my 280SE and I decided to change the engine damper.

The new one is a made in Germany it’s a Febi but the shaft is a bit different than the original. I have new bushings but the original metal collars won’t fit around the new shocks shaft.

Thoughts? I’m tempted to put the original back on with the new bushings and call it good it’s still in good shape.

I put the collars in a vice and drilled them a little bit bigger until they fit over the shaft.  For what the set cost I wasn't putting the old ones back.
