W123 Rally Car

On the Motor Trend channel there is a show called Holden Bros Restos.  Season 1, episode 4 they modify a w123 300 diesel coupe for off-road rally.

The Mercedes factory did marathon Rallys with these cars and the W107s back in the day. Using a Mercedes W123(280E), Andrew Cowan won the London to Sidney marathon rally in 1977. The next year Mercedes won the World Rally Championship mostly using 450SLCs. Included in the victories was the 8,000 mile South American Rally.

Joe,  When are you going to take some race enthusiasts to southern Ohio to see those modern rallies?  I wouldn't know how best to see it.  I would like to see the Bellefountain hill climb too!

Joe, you need to tell the group now, of your exploits way back when you took that 1968 250 S W114 and competed in the SCCA Pro Rally series...remember we have a lot of newer members that don't know!
