climate control lights
« on: June 01, 2003, 18:24:01 »
Help! I'm almost finished reassembling my dash, and am having electric problems. I don't get voltage to the lights inside the heater control wheels, and there is no voltage to fuses 9 to 12.
These tests were made with the key and the light switch on. All the gauges are out.
Any help is appreciated.

Joe,

I'd guess the problem is in the area of the headlight switch, or the wiring to or from it.  I think power flows from the battery, to the light switch, then to fuses 9-12, then to the various lights around the car.  A bad connection at the light switch might be the problem, or perhaps a faulty switch.

Joe,
If all the gages are out, is the plug from the center instrument cluster disconnected? The climate controls lights work thru the rheostat and I am sure the plug has to be in place for everything to work.
