Rear Axle different lengths?

I replaced all the bearings and seals on my rear axle. I unfortunately didn’t label the shafts. Now I’m second guessing which one goes where?? LONG shaft is 27-15/16” SHORT shaft is 27-5/16” such a small difference, i’m afraid they may fit but be wrong??? Which shaft goes on the driver side (LHD)

It seems the longer shaft is on the left side.
