Local (Southern Connecticut) Expert Mechanic Needed
« on: May 17, 2024, 13:28:36 »
I live in Southern Connecticut and have a 1971 SL.  This winter I had the intake manifold and value cover pulled and drove them up to Gernold (SL Tech) in Arundle Maine to have them vapor blasted. I finally got to meet Gernold and what a treat to see his operation.  And best of all the parts look fantastic! I only wish he lived around the corner from me!

Anyway, after reinstalling the manifold back in Connecticut the mechanic who did the work can not get the car to run correctly.  Idle all screwed up and running very rich!  Instead of the idle dropping down to 850 rpms when it reaches operating temperature it actually steps up to 1,750!  I've lost confidence in these guys and I'm now trying to find a real expert who can get this car running correctly.

Any referrals in the Southern Connecticut area would be greatly appreciated!

My sister-in-law is having her 280 worked on by Innovative Restorations in Wallingford.  She says they are really on the ball and professional.
