Solid core spark plug wire advice
« on: June 08, 2024, 21:25:19 »
Hi folks,

In a recent thread regarding spark plugs, I believe it was suggested that solid core plug wires are better. I currently have Bosch wires with the metal ends. It is time for new plugs, wires, cap and rotor.

I believe Benz Dr suggested using existing ends on solid wire. Maybe all I need is a solid core coil wire.

What I am finding available is 8mm copper core wire, but not sure if this is what I should be looking for and if I should make entire set or just coil wire. Would anyone care to advise me on this?

Thanks,

I have written it some time ago. Maybe helpful. The Beru lead is for Europe, I am sure you have more options in the US.

Thanks Pawel,

That's some really great information there. I already ordered a new cap & rotor, plus some NGK BP5ES spark plugs today to replace my aging Bosch W9RDC. I will also order some solid copper wire to replace my aging Bosch.

Thanks again for this valuable info.
Kind regards,
