Hand brake installation

Hi
Can somebody please tell me the function of part 20 in this diagram?
Also, is there a washer that is supposed to go between the handbrake and the car body?

The diagram on the link above shows the pin, a washer or spring washer and a bush

Thank you… yes , I see…
20 in the diagram seems to be a little horseshoe shaped thing.. just wondering what it’s function is… didn’t find it whilst dismantling my handbrake…

The picture of all of the handbrake components are on this post, can't see any horseshoe shaped washers, just standard washers

A washer that is bent to create tension on the threads.  Similar to a split washer or lock washer.
