Ski Rack Question
« on: March 09, 2025, 22:13:56 »
I recently purchased a ski rack from a member of the forum. Unfortunately, after installing I noticed that the ski racks are too long and do not fit my car. I am very disappointed to say the least.

Does anyone know what car the ski rack would fit? They are approx. 38" inches long.

They may be from a Mercedes R107, both are very familiar

IIRC one has slightly bent bars and one has straight bars. I don't remember which is which.

I remember seeing these advertised. They are for a 107 pretty sure of it. Here is picture of mine on my w113. Only 35" long or wide.

Yes I agree they are for the 107. I lived in Germany during the 80s and acquired both the 107 ski racks and the W113 racks and yes the 107 is a longer rack. Only recourse you might have is to find a medal shop that can cut the bars and drill/tap the hole to match the existing 107 locking nuts.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'm going to try and decide what I am going to do. It's a good lesson to measure before purchasing!

Brandon , I am curious. May I ask what was your motivation to buy the ski rack?
For skiing or for show ?

I bought it for show. This car will probably never see rain or snow. Also, having accessories like these make the car more valuable in my opinion. (Not that I’m going to sell anytime soon).

If you do decide to not cut the racks down for your Pagoda, I would suggest the you advertise on eBay for ski racks for w107 SL, might get a hit because MB made so many examples.
