Okay just thought I'd wrap this one up !
I managed to get the helicoil fitted, then a bolt sheared in the thermostat housing. I had to drill and retap that, which was succesful, the thermostat was incorrect and opening too early so I fitted a new one.
It's back together again and I drove it for the first time in 5 weeks !
It felt great and ran better than ever. I think the coolant being to slow meant that sometimes the WRD opened up again !
Anyway I also replaced the sleeves in the clutch master cylinder and fitted the overhauled power steering pump and resvoir that I have been looking at for over a year. It may be a while before I finish that job but I wanted to ensure I had all the relevant fittings !
Still need a photo of a stripped clutch slave cylinder, or in fact i would buy a used one if anyone had one, then just fit new seals to it !!
Good to be back driving again............and the good news is I got the green light to build my new garage for next year !! [:p]
