I plan to do a big project !
I am moving house next week, building a new house locally, but renting for a year ! The rented house does not have a garage or even enough driveway space for my 230SL so I decided to bite the bullet and do what I have put off for years !
I am going to replace the front wings, rear 1/4 panels, repair some dings in the door and boot lid, any other rust repairs and have the car repainted in its original colour which is DB050. The car currently is some MB shade of white which is lighter than it should be !
This car has rust in its wheel arches and headlamp buckets and along its extremities. I will be stripping the car of all its trim, chromework etc, and dropping it to my bodyshop where I expect it will stay for 6 months or so !
I'll miss it and miss driving it but it seems like a good time to kill two birds with one stone !
I will have lots of questions I am sure so I'm warning you all to lookout !!! [:p]
It seems like a lot of us are going through this process at the same time, maybe a communal (sp?) thread would be a good idea !
