Another rare Mercedes - Amelia 2006

This is a 1955 Mercedes Benz 300b Pinin Farina that was presented at the 2006 Amelia Island Concours. It traveled to the show from Monaco. Note the two wipers on the rear glass and the great two-tone paint. This photo really doesn't do justice to what is a really imaculate car.

Ed,
I saw the same car at Pebble Beach back in August. Here it is:

I quote from the description: "Quite possibly, this was the first postwar Mercedes to be fitted with Italian custom coachwork. It was not until key people in the Mercedes-Benz factory in Sindelfingen received and approved Pinin Farina's drawings that they actually sent an automobile to him to be bodied".

Peter:
Thanks for posting a better photo that shows that beautiful car off much better than mine did. If you or others are interested in other nice photos from the concours, there is a nice string that someone with better photography skills than my own has posted here....http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=259450
