Folks, have you ever heard about mercedes benz without steering wheel?

Don't know about that steering wheel, but those are sure butt ugly rims!

Yes, its an experimental prototype that was exhibited at the Customer collection center at Sindelfingen when I picked up a new car in Apr 2002.

Sure is discouraging to note that you can't tell an MB from a GM except for the hood ornament....what ever happened to style...they're all squeezed out of the same toothpaste tube now....

Note that all controlls are symmetrical, so you can sit on either side to drive.  A universal design.

Sure.  But the instrument cluster is still set up for left hand drive!  Maybe they ought to copy some recent BMW practice (horrors!) and centralize the instrument pod like the Z8 or Mini!

It looks like a digital screen, so I bet you could just toggle a button and the display would flip-flop to the other side.
