uh oh, missing parts for rear brake shoes?
« on: March 24, 2006, 22:01:37 »
I disassembeld and trashed the old brake pistons for the rear brakes on my 66 230 sl.
I ordered many new parts from K&K including the new pistons.
Well, I started to re assemble the rear brakes and I think I threw away some parts i need.

are there connectors that install on the pistons and have a fork shape on the other that connect with the brake shoes?
right now All I have are pistions with a rounded end that would contact the shoes.

darn it for not hanging on to the old pistons until I re assembeled the brakes.

any input? the mb manual and haynes do not have the detail for me to  verify If I messed up.

thanks in advance

A dalton,
according to the schematic on the link I am missing item 91.
I guess these just stick into the cylinder on one end and the fork pushes the shoe.

I actually found 2, so I gues I would need 2 more.

I will contact gernold at sl tech and see if he has some
