Just got my 280 back from the mechanic after having a routine rear brake job turn into the brake job from h*ll, and he also deterimined that my transmission kickdown problem is related to the wiring between the switch and the transmission. We're getting voltage to the switch and out of the switch, but no voltage to the electric solenoid on the tranny itself. He needs a wiring schematic of the transmission kickdown circuit to complete his diagnostic, and his reference materials don't go back to my car.
I've searched the site, and the only references I can find to wiring diagrams are related to the ones in the latest Pagoda World, which I do not get.
I've also reviewed the links to
http://www.pagode.info/28.htm, but I speak better hillbilly than German, so I can't translate this into something I can use.
Is there something else available that I could use? While I could use an entire schematic, I'll be happy for now with the transmission kickdown circuit, as the rest of the electronics are working correctly. This car has had a Mercedes rebuilt trans installed at one point in it's history, so maybe something's it's as simple as something not plugged in somewhere, or a wire has been broken.
This is for a 1968 280SL with automatic trans.
