« on: May 09, 2006, 12:46:44 »
Hello,
Just finished the frame off restorstion on my 2nd 280SL, and took it out for a little drive. Following are some photos, will post some more of engine bay and interior.
The car had a complete floor change, the engine rebuilt all new suspension and breaks, rechromed , new interior and top from Gahh, new wood....also a color change from green to beige gray.

Malek:

Looks awesome! The beige grey looks particularly sophisticated. Really nice job, you must be thrilled to have it finished.

Only one question. Is it legal to drive around Beirut with US headlights?  8)

Wow your car looks fantastic :)

Congratulations. that must be an even better restoration than your first one since you learned a lot from the previous experience.

Can I ask how long it took you to restore it.

Cheers,

Joel-j

Thank you all,
The color is 158 White Gray,
It took 6 months to complete, but you have to keep in mind that it is the only car that the body shop (That I established) was working on and I farmed out the engine rebuild and interior.
My Blue Pagoda is an automatic (Euro), and this one is manual (American Specs.) and I found the driving experience totally different the manual is more sporty more aggressive and seems faster!!! I guess more PAGODA like...

And it is legel to drive with either Euro or american Lights Here

On another note I started my new restoration project: a 1958 220 S convertible two tone.. And I belive this will complete my collection!

Regards and Thanks again
Best Regards

BEAUTIFUL car!!

DB181 is light beige. It is more creamy light brown than grey. I know cause I have encountered a little of it hidden away under my car which has 181 as color on the data plate.
