Door Rattles

With the windows lowered, there are rattles in both doors on my car when going over rough pavement. Is it likely the windows are loose in their frames when in the lowered position or could it be something else?  I haven't had the door panels off for quite a while, so I am seeking some advice prior to removing them.  Thanks in advance for any input.

hi Rod
I had major rattle on driver side which I assumed were the guides for the glass but when I took off the door pannel the entire window mechanism was loose.  I was able to realign and tighten... now not a sound.

If you do a search on the site you'll find lots of help on this topic.

Run a search on "guide jaws." It's the two felt-lined clamps at the base of the window. They come loose every couple of decades.
