Hi Naj. I am from liverpool,I will be going to essen with the mercedes club leaving Northampton on thursday back on sunday.Hi Ben we are staying at the Mercure Hotel Ratingen in Dusseldorf.I think about 80 members are staying there also

I hope to see as many of you as possible, maybe we should arrange a meeting somewhere, I would hate to get so close and then miss other 113'ers !

I made an report on my visit last saturday to the Essen TC show and visited the stand of our german collegues. http://www.pagodentreff.de/diskussionsforum/t3856-techno-classica-2007-a.html#post22889 As the report contains a lot of pictures the impession is also accessable for the non german speaking members to get a feeling of the event. I was very pleased to meet Naj (on the picture left) at the stand.

Hey Gerard - your post is on the second page of that thread, so people visiting there have to click on the '2' for it. When I just went there, the photos would not load, just the little 'x'-es showed. May be different for other visitors.

Peter van Es and I and a couple of friends went on Thursday and it was great once again. If one didn't know any better, one would think the 300 SLs ('Gullwing' Coupe or convertible variety) were as common as Pontiac Firebirds in their day. The German Pagoda Club had the 'recently recovered after 30 years in the river' Pagoda on display (well, what's left of it), Mercedes had a EUR 140K Pagoda on sale (rocker panels in light body color) and the lunch was again excellent!

Plus beautiful Ferraris, Horches, Bugattis (including no less than 3 Veyrons), a couple of my personal favorite Pegasos and so on and so forth. Well worth the trip.
