Carpet Dye

Have any of you had any luck with carpet dye??  I have a tan colored carpet that the sun has turned  Lt. green. Would like to dye a choclate brown. Comments, suggestions?

I've never tried it but know someone that did.  I never did follow up with him on the results.  If it's not too expensive I would go ahead and try it on a small portion of the affected carpet.
