Mechanics in New York

    I'm a soon-to-be proud owner of a 1967 250SL. I live in Brooklyn, New York, and was wondering if members of this forum could direct me to quality mechanics in the Brooklyn/Manhattan neighbourhoods.

Decent mechanics in NY for this particular model are hard to come by. I know of one who would be capable for very basic work (inspections, oil changes, etc.), but I think you're better off making the trip to Tenafly, NJ to Wolfgang Ritter's shop. He's at 201-568-7003. I think he also offers loaner cars, if you arrange it beforehand.

    Thanks for this information. I shall make sure to contact Wolfgang and set up an appointment for him to look the vehicle over. Could you also please give me the details of the person who's in New York, so that I could use him in case of an emergency?
