230SL Top (1964)
« on: July 28, 2007, 09:45:06 »
~Is the Greman replacement top worth $200 more then the Stay Fast top?
~Will the Stay Fast top work as well?
~Will the Stay Fast top negativly impact the cars value?
~Quates I a,m getting for an instaled top are between $1,000 (Stay Fast)& $1,200 (German).  Is that fair?

I recently went through researching tops (based mostly on info here, the internet, and a few shops I spoke with)... The end result was: the GAHH German canvas top is the best option -- and it takes aprox. 8 hours labor for a good install. Installers get the better price on tops than if you bought it directly. Ideally, find a guy who has done either 113s or 107s. Ask his opinion of GAHH. $1100 is what I was quoted by a straightshooter.
