Tech session at Van Dijk in Holland

Just returned from an all-day tech session at Van Dijk in Lisserbroek. Ten of us showed up, including Willy Rams all the way from Belgium and we had a great time. Thanks to the hospitality of Van Dijk, who hosted the session with the Van Dijk brothers and Nico, one of the mechanics, showing us how to adjust the valves, how king pins are rebuilt, how the fuel injectors are tested, what the components of the FI pump do (on the basis of an opened-up pump), the various cold start circuits, etc etc etc. Each of the attendants' cars was subjected to intense scrutiny and several quick fixes were effected. Lunch was on Van Dijk, and we had plenty of opportunity to ask questions and also of course exchange experiences etc. There were 6 Pagoda's on hand. One of the sidelines was the viewing of a 300 SL Gullwing, which was stored since the late sixties in a barn and has not been touched since. You can imagine how it looks, but you won't have to for long, as many pictures were taken. Here's one shot of the outside area where most of the cars were parked:

Van Dijk indicated they will for sure organize such a session again next year!

   It sure was a great day, thanks to the Van Dijk Brothers and Cees. Everybody gained something, the Van Dijk's a new-, and some potential customers, the club a new full member, yes I joined yesterday, could not resist to Cees's look.
A lot of " Technical " pictures were taken. I just attach one of the Injection pump.

Wow seems like a great day out !

I believe Roger Edwards in the UK held one of these for the 113's but I never heard or read anything about it !

I'd really love to get some material on any of these events as based in Ireland I'm unlikely to encounter one in person !

Hello Ben. I think we can organize such a session in Ireland and in the UK if we would put our minds to it. Surely there must be at least 8 or 10 owners around where you are, plus a specialized dealer who could host such an event. Maybe when we have the article for Pagoda World together, we can put our thinking caps on and see how we would go about organizing a session in Ireland (and --- Naj: how about one somewhere in the UK?)
