www.sl113.org statistics

For those of you who care... and for those of you who don't.

Membership statistics

Full members:

We have 613 unique members in our full member database, of which 220 have let their memberships lapse. We have 278 active members (i.e. who paid up their membership). As a result there are some 115 records in our database of people who never paid up, i.e. never activated their membership.

Some 130 of them logged in on the main site, for the last time, this quarter. About 50 logged in for the last time in Q2, about 40 in Q1 of 2007.

Also about 40 logged in for the last time in Q4, 2006, about 30, last time Q3, 2006. Most of the members who did not log in after that are now expired members...

Forum members

We have 2109 forum members. Of these we have 395 duplicate e-mail addresses, ie in reality we have some 1911 distinct members.

Looking at their activity, 420 distinct forum members visited us in the Q3 of 2007, and 171 forum members last visited us in Q2 of 2007. 156 members last visited us in Q1 of 2007 and some 99 last in Q4 of 2006. Note that for us to register these people they needed to have logged in. If someone has not logged in, then we do not recognise that they perhaps may have lurked.

In reality, based on these numbers, we probably have a hard-core of some 400 forum members, and around 400 people who join, visit a couple of times, and then drop off again.

Posts

We have 3 people who posted in excess of 2500 messages. 11 of us (including those three) posted over 1000 messages each for a total of 16685 messages. 10 more members posted between 500 and 1000 messages, for a total of 6853.

In total some 52,208 posts were generated, and 387 members posted more than 10 times.

Well anyway, that was it for today and my statistics. PS: these numbers are no longer up to date once I posted this story.

Peter,

Thanks for the update.  Question on membership:  does the site automatically notify us when membership dues are due?  Is membership on a calendar year or annual from date of joining?  I would not want my membership to lapse for reason of my lapse in memory :=)

Thanks,
g

Hey peter,

Does the login to the 'forums' count for your statistics or just the login on the main page?

Dear all

Yes, we send full members reminder notices, starting 30 days before expiry and then every month afterwards, for 3 months. Only if people have not paid at that point do we de-activate them.

We started this practice around a year ago.

In the statistics above, the main page login counts for the Full member statistics. Logging in to the forum -- or indeed, posting -- counts for the Forum and Post statistics. When you are just reading messages without having logged in, we cannot tell it was you.

Correct, I should get a life. Actually, everything is stored in a database. I just wrote some queries, and produced a few reports, which allow me to gather these statistics. Here's one for fun:

Code: [Select]
SELECT user851183_snitz_MEMBERS.M_NAME, user851183_snitz_MEMBERS.M_POSTS,
      user851183_snitz_MEMBERS.M_EMAIL, user851183_snitz_MEMBERS.M_FIRSTNAME,
      user851183_snitz_MEMBERS.M_LASTNAME,
      DateSerial(val(Left([M_LASTPOSTDATE],4)),
                 val(Mid([M_LASTPOSTDATE],5,2)),
                 val(Mid([M_LASTPOSTDATE],7,2)))
      AS LastPostDate
FROM user851183_snitz_MEMBERS
WHERE user851183_snitz_MEMBERS.M_POSTS>0
ORDER BY user851183_snitz_MEMBERS.M_POSTS DESC,
      user851183_snitz_MEMBERS.M_LASTPOSTDATE DESC;

Just so that you car experts know that there's something I can do too!

Peter

Of course.... Dr Benz, one more post and you hit 1000!  :D  Congratulations in advance...

Top posters are....

Code: [Select]
2499 - rwmastel
2124 - Cees Klumper
2084 - douglas

Runner up:
1872 - ja17

If you don't know who these people are, you are not here often enough. By now (i.e. anything after 21 sep 2007) that's out of date again I'm sure. Look under their names on any post and you'll find out the real truth.

Now these people really ought to get a life...  ;)

I think its great to see such interest and activity on this site. It makes it virtually a real-time experience and adds a fantastic dimension to owning one of these great little cars. Thanks all.

PS -- as you can see -- the quanitity of one's posts really has little to do with the "quality." I just like to be in the fray.
