Dear all,

Multiple members have received this message yesterday. I have already deleted the member.

Please note, that these kinds of messages are a general problem on the Internet. There is no (technical) way that we can avoid them. This person went through the hassle of creating an account, activating it, and then using the forum members messaging facility to send the mail... that is actually a lot more effort than just spamming a mailbox, so I suspect that now that I've deleted their account, this will stop.

In future, when you receive such a message:

  • under no circumstances contact the person or enter into the shady proposition they make-- have a look here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advance_fee_fraud or Google for "Nigerian 419 scam" and you'll know what it's all about
  • Do not post messages about it, just mail it to admin@sl113.org and I'll take care of it
  • Delete it and forget it

Note: we have also recently been subjected to spam posts, advertising amazing sex toys, endowment extenders and fantastic pills. I have deleted a number of these messages, however someones account may have been compromised. I've asked the innocent member to change his password.

Should you come across forum spam, which we've mercifully had very little of so far, again just notify admin@sl113.org. I'll take care of it.

Peter

How do you delete something you don't want within these forums? I don't see a delete button.
