To all you 113 boffins out there , Does anyone know if a Becker Europa fits straight into the dash panel ? I can purchase one but no good if its the wrong size for a Pagoda . thanks for your help .Regards Colin @ Edinburgh

I'm pretty sure the Europa was the standard radio for the 230SL... I just bought a used one for mine, since some PO had slapped a Sony or something in the hole.  However, my dash does look like the opening was made by a real metal butcher, so I can't absolutely confirm that my opening is stock size

The opening for the 230SL is not the samae as the one on the 280SL.

280s would accept the Europa, but 230s had shorter height. Typical radio for the 230SL (in US) is Becker TG like this one:

My 1964, with an unmodified dash, has a Becker Grand Prix TG.  I recommend contacting Tom Mitchell at Becker of North America (http://www.beckerautosound.com/Classic/index.htm), he should be able to help you find the correct radio.
