Interesting bumper guards-- never seen them before. Are they from another car? Where did you find them?

I might be tempted to do something similar; the old US-version guards look absolutely hideous, but these are not so bad...

Regarding your inquiry, I've no experience with suitable boat colours to match pagoda... have you considered making a little car-ramp and deck parking so you can flaunt said pagoda whilst on the high seas??  :D  :)

I just realized that my yacht (18' Herreshoff) is in fact the same color as my '67 250SL --> Orient Red.  We'll not exactly --> but close to that deep color red.  I didn't plan it that way!

I suspect that owners of Pagoda's probably also have some old classic wooden boats.  I was thrilled when I learned that I could varnish my boat, and my car dash whithout putting away the brush in the spring!

Wow James!  Does your car have a dark blue soft top also?

Could you believe that I did not notice that. I'm a newbie, a real one.
I'm so amazed (very positively) by all of you, your knowledge and the way you analyze the smallest details in the pictures.
It's good to know you are around and ready to help.
To answer your question, I dont know anything about these bumpers as I own this car for 2 months. It seems (only seems) to be original. Is it possible? The car is from March 1965 (France).

I've never seen those kinds of bumper guards. Because of this, I feel they are not original equipment.  Perhaps the experts can chime in here (like Douglas, among others).

However, they look like they were always meant to be on the car.... reminds me of the full rubber strips that Mercedes added to the 280SE bumpers after the all-chrome bumpers on the 220SE/250SE cars.  Instead of full-length rubber strips, yours are sleek little bumper guards that might serve a useful purpose whilst keeping the streamlined original look of the car.

Do you have them on the rear bumpers as well?

My car doesn't have the ugly US-style bumpers, but I often think of adding something to provide some measure of safety from stray parallel-parkers.  The bumpers on your car look very nice, and I may yet try it out on a spare set of bumpers I've lying about.

I would love it if you could perhaps post more extensive  pictures of your beautiful car in the picture gallery?  I'm sure many of us would readily admire it here.  In any case, thanks for posting this one!

Best regards,

That pic of your car pulling the boat reminds me of my times in Europe.  I'ld see the smallest cars loaded down and pulling small trailer boxes behind them.
