Does anyone get their pagaoda out for a winter jaunt?
Im now trying to plan a spring NY metro get together- a new mall has opened by me and they have a nice central elipise in a park like setting and a starbucks- the marketer is offering swag! good forum for an informal show

let me know if theres interest.

Winter Drive:

I enjoy the car best with the top down. I go for a winter drive about once a month to keep the parts moving. My real drive time is April to November then hibernation.

Spring Meet:

You know I'm like an old fire dog. When I hear the Pagoda event bell ring I'm off and running (oops, riding).

It ain't easy to get Metro NY NJ CT Pago owners to come out but as we saw at West Point, "Build it and they will come."

I drive my Pagoda throughout the winter, unless there is salt on the roads (which happens less and less as the years pass by - I think last year it was maybe one or two days all winter).

In Houston we have no problem driving year round, matter of fact I was out yesterday with the top down, although I admit after I drove a few miles I stopped and put it up as it was just a little too chilly.

In London for the last week or so it has been '-1 ' and getting colder, however it is very dry & I find the Pagoda loves it , my wife says" she's Purring "
So I take her out for a drive every week or so and put my foot down for a while to clean out her tubes and warm her up a bit! (' :oops: ')

when i lived in boise i drove the 250sl i had al year long except when there was more than a dusting of snow or ice; even drove it to seattle and back, but wrong descision with 2 dogs and no a/c :evil:
here in carolina have been driving the 230sl almost every day unless there is rain... enjoy it when you can...

Mine is more like "rainy day" withdrawal. If the sun is out, I try and find a reason for a drive all year long (as if I need one!).

I find that during the rainy periods, I really do get antsy. What I do for therapy is either go out and detail things, tackle a small project here and there, or of course, tune in here and more or less live vicariously through you guys in the sunshine (like right now!)

"It's Pagoda driving time somewhere" in this big old world...

No withdrawals for me. The exact opposite in fact.

It's a dry day here, clear and sunny but the roads are damp and grimey. My W202 is in the shop for a new ECU and so I had to use the 113 for a 120mile journey this morning

Once I had jump started the car, pumped up the offisde front tyre (a slow...), found out that I had a mouse or two seeking warmth in my trunk and finally got going....

the wiper motor finally gave up the ghost about half way. NOT a funb drive into low winter sunshine

I grew up not far from you (in Northwest Detroit) and this one reason why I'm now on the Central Coast of California!

I grew up in West Michigan, so Detroit is actually a little milder than what I'm used to.

I spent a few years in CA about 30 years ago, I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

For those of us that live down under, its a bit hard to relate to. For us, those of us in Brisbane anyway, winter is the best time for W113s - the summer is too hot other than early morning or at night when its fantastic.

Our seasons are reversed - with 4 days to go until Christmas, we are looking at temperatures in the early 80s, with most families planning on spending Christmas day outdoors. Our family tradition is lunch by the pool followed by a more formal dinner at night when it gets a bit cooler. The beach is a popular target for many.

I cannot deny that the pictures of snow look very beautiful and picturesqe however I suspect that the novelty must wear off after a while, especially for the northern states. I lived in Virginia for a few years and it was a novelty there as heavy falls were rare.

So...please enjoy your cold Christmas and the cold weather benefits; warm egg nog and toasty fires.

Luckily in Florida we can drive year round. There are a few weeks out of the year that I wouldn't venture off in the Pagoda. Believe it or no but summer is not the best time of year to experience it. It's just too darn hot. However early morning, dusk and nights are my favorites for summer driving.

Yo Kevin C, nice to see a post, glad you are still on board. We miss you down in Florida but I assume the trade offs (snow, sleet, salt, no place to swim, etc.) are worth it up there in MA ;-)
