Christmas at the Beach

I thought I'd share a picture of where my 230 sl and I spent Christmas Eve day.  I was out on the course while the Pagoda turned heads in the parking lot. They wouldn't let me use this as my cart although I promised to stay on the cart paths!   The day was perfect (although my game was not.) This is the bag drop area at Pebble Beach, the pro shop is just through the gate. (unfortunately the sign didn't come out too well in the pic).

Thiss was also a chance to show off my new GAHH top (an early-early Christmas present).

Oh, it was ugly.  I think the ocean level may have risen slightly with all the balls I put in there!  I managed a few pars but came out with a 110 (ugh!) but if I look at it from a cost-per-stroke perspective I had good round.  I won't be quiting my day job any time soon.  The scenery was spectacular which may have been a bit distracting. Most distracting of all may have been a pristine 190sl that drove by when we were teeing off.

Well, it's not exactly an easy course either. And yes, the distracting scenery is worth about 15 strokes! But consider yourself lucky to play there -- in December no less... I definitely feel more pressure the higher the green fees. In fact, I am a cheapskate and anything over 40-45 gives me the yips.

What a thrill it must have been to tread upon this hallowed asphalt.  To drive onto the grounds where some of the worlds most admired and sought after vehicles have made their presence.

It was dark gray (maybe medium gray or arabian gray?) with a black convertible top, the top was up.

Probably Graphite Grey.
