Manual Shift Support Rods - Bushing Part #'S
« on: July 22, 2012, 03:36:17 »
Hi All,
I've got to replace the shift bushes on my 280SL stick shift. I did it once years ago. The tech manual has the part numbers for the nylon parts related to the shift tube and lever.
This time I want to also replace the nylon bushes on the ends of the 2 support rods. Is this possible through the interior access plate? Does anyone have the part numbers for those 4 support rod bushes?
thanks

I find it easier to remove the rods and replace the bushings on the bench. They go in tightly so I use my vise and a socket to pop them into place.
