I have a cable running from the firewall (RHS, upper) across the top of the firewall and then heading forwards. It joins a unit on the top of the engine block somewhere about the 2nd cylinder, on the intake side, alongside the rocker cover. It seems to sit into an aluminIum unit with 2 cables coming out of it, one clearly connected to the ignition system (looks like at HT lead)
I ask as the cable is "armoured" but both the plastic sheath and armour have been warn through where the cable is clearly vibrating against the vertical part of the throttle linkage (up from FI pump)
As it's worn I have adopted the obvious cure, Duct Tape, temporarily but am trying to ascertain the priority and difficulty of fix!
(Oh, and wipers are back and running. Feeling very pleased with myself this morning as I did my first "job" today. Wiper motor and relay swapping, including making up a gasket. All up and running and while this is a minor job for most of you, for a non-mechanical person like me....)
