Hose clamps
« on: August 04, 2007, 13:06:42 »
While at Blacklick last weekend, I sold a number of 9mm Beru cotter pin style hose clamps.  Tim Kidder said that he belived they were no longer available.  In my search this week, his opinion may be correct.  I will continue to search for the 9mm and the 5mm style.  These were used for low pressure water applications such as heater hoses for the 9mm and the black braided vacuum hose to brake booster on the early cars.  The 190SL and 300SL also uses them.

I do still have plenty of the norma clamps in stock for the other underhood appliactions.

I will keep  everyone posted on the sucess or failure to locate the Beru 5 and 9mm clamps sd the strapping to go with them.

Pete,

Do I correctly recall that you sell a hose clamp kit that includes all (or most) of the correct clamps for our cars. If so, I would be interested in purchasing such an ensemble.

Could you post details or PM me?

Peter - Are you saying the 9mm clamp stock and cotter assemblies are no longer available?  I bought the bulk stock at my local dealer about a year ago.

I am checking around to see of the Beru 5mm and 9mm are still available in the US.  My contact where I source Norma clamps has the opinion that Beru no longer makes them. I do offer complete Norma Style clamp kits for the underhood and the fuel delivery system for the 230,250 and 280SL cars.  There are some slight differences, (the biggest being the 250 which has the oil/water heat exchanger)so I would need to known the year and VIN number of the car to be accurate. As soon as I determine the availablity of the Beru style, I will email you a return price off line.

If anyone else is interested, Please email offline at W113SL@aol.com.

The Beru clamps are available from the dealer. at a ridiculous price, however. List price for the 9mm is over $3.50 and for the 5mm over $3.00 and that's only for the Beru clamp not the strapping. But, at least they are still out there.  I will start the research for a more reasonable price.

Paul:  The clamp kit for your car is $75 plus $5 shipping and handling.  It includes 49 clamps, but not the ones for the radiator expansion tank or the ones for the air intake hose.  Also, I will soon have a supply of the 5mm Beru style for the vacuum hose, which you will need to wind yourself.  The list price for thse clamps is now near $3.00 just for the clamps, not the stapping, and I cannot get much of a discount, so if you need them, they will be an additional $18.00 for the six.

Email me off line for adddtional particulars.

Did you notice that the e-mail Pete left in his last post ended in .como?  Should be .com.
