I apologize for the obnoxious size of my photo----it's not being done intentionallly.  Every time I try to use the "Attach"  option with a message, I get an error message so I try to use an alternate method to post the picture.  I'll try to see if I can figure out what's going on.

Same thing in Virginia.  There is quite a market now for old license plate sets, and low numbers are particularly sought after in Virginia because they were "reserved" back in the day.  Single digit tags were reserved for the Governor and former governors, two digit tags were reserved for government officials and family.  A three or four digit low number tag then was the equivalent of a personalized tag today, except that you had to have some connections to get on the "reserved" list!

Well, not a number plate, but I saw this on a big Swedish transport truck-trailer at the Nuerbergring:

Too bad you can't type in true mirror image, like in Through the Looking Glass.

Here's my car's original California plate and green 1971 sticker (protected by a 34-year-old coat of Classic Boat Wax):

Decided to revive this thread that started 6 months ago in hopes that some new members would have good material to add. Meantime, here is another one I like, lifted from the Early 911 forum...

Only ever put private plates on my Motorbikes.

Also collect plates...... from wherever I can in the world. Note the roof beams of the garage, both sides and also the wall down one side had them.

Reviving this thread again, how about this one, Tom? Also, look closely and you'll see the Georgia 'PAGODA' tag (once again) in the distance. And no, that's not my Gulf Blue 930.

Illinois allows "antique" cars to display the license plate of the year of manufacture, provided that the assigned plates are carried in the car.  In my case, the 1968 plates are white with red letters. This is a good color combination for me
