Fuel Level Tank Sensor
« on: October 22, 2012, 00:38:45 »
I just got my 1965 230SL out of the shop and they installed a new fuel tank and sensor. Now it appears that the fuel guage is working in reverse, the less fuel in the tank, the higher the reading on the guage. Non of the instruments was touched and only yhe sensor was changed, but since there is a connector at the top of the sensor, that was not changed either.
Any ideas on what might be the problem.
Thanks
Rolf

The new cylindric fuel sensor will not work correctly with the gauge in the old version center instrument, as they work in reverse as you said.
The  instrument need to match the type of fuel sensor in order to show the correct fuel level.
Install a matching fuel sensor and center gauge, either by replacing the censor or the instrument.
