The white 250SL, automatic that sold on E-Bay for $24k with 34k miles on it.... why would it be in need "full restoration" in '84(new interior/paint/& chrome) with only 27k original miles on it at that time? '67 to '84 with 27k miles averages ~1,600 miles/year over the 17 year period.... and it was "garaged all it's life" and "never been driven in the rain". I note the brake fluid reservior's color (aging)... doesn't look nearly as clear and is far more yellowed than mine which was original when I bought it in '84 with 101k miles on it... so I might believe 127k miles on the white one in '84, but not 27k.
I note the VIN is listed as 11304312111408 which would indicate a 250SL chassis number 111,408! If we discount the first 2 of the last 6 digits (11) as erroneous --- should be 00 on any 250SL since only 5196 were produced, then it's chassis number 1408... an early 250SL. It has, however, the 280SL one-piece wheel covers, a 280SL exterior driver's side mirror, a much more padded, rounded front edge upper dash than I've seen on any pre-280SL, and the orange lower portion of headlights below the sealed beam, all of which are not early 250SL accoutrement... or 250SL versions at all. So, if the restoration was done in '84 with a car that had only 27k original miles on it, then why replace wheel covers, headlights, usa a 280SL fully padded upper dash construction, and a 280SL drivers side mirror. The restoration in '84 with changed out 250SL accutrement for 280SL version features could be due to the restoration wanting to mimic those 280SL features of course... not uncommon, but would not be necessary for a car with only 27k miles on it that was "always garaged".
Did you notice the speedo mileage now shows 08628.. definitely not 38628. Funny stuff shows up on E-bay.
