Rubber seals for soft top:
« on: July 07, 2008, 22:29:35 »
After stretching out the German Canvas convertible top, I was inspecting the rubber seal at the bottom of the frame on the convertible top and noticed it was starting to tear. I also want to replace the rubber seal inside the convertible top cover that sits flat and also wraps around the horseshoe.

How hard a job is it to replace these seals?

Bob,

I have replaced my top and all the rubbers. Are you talking about the rubber seal that meets the windscreen frame? Regardless, it is not hard to replace. They are all relatively simple and I have photos of the job if it would help.

I didn't replace the one that sits inside the softtop box, so can't speak for that.

Bob,
I did my top replacement last year.  Did all the work myself.  It is not a problem to replace rubber (all seals)  they all fit into channels  Does not take long to do.  If you need help with "how to", just let me know.
